The Motivation You Need To Lose Weight

To lose weight you must first have a motivation to lose the weight. Ask yourself why you want to lose the weight. Reasons for losing weight can vary between people, but most reasons include wanting to avoid sickness, looking or feeling good for themselves, and wanting to attract the opposite sex.
Also, there are people who want to lose weight just so that they can enjoy playing certain sports like football, skiing, etc. Whatever the reason may be, it is important that you are truthful to yourself at this stage. After you have decided one something to keep you motivated, it is time to set a weight loss goal for yourself. A lot of people make a mistake at this stage and get a celebrity or model in mind that they want to look like. Do not think of shedding all the extra calories in a month or so. Remember that such things are not possible and would make you feel demotivated. Set a weight loss target like ‘I would lose 15 pounds in two months’, and work towards achieving that. Setting to high of a goal will make you feel like you aren’t accomplishing anything. An will leave you depressed and discouraged.
Another important thing in losing weight is to give yourself a reward when you reach your goal. This reward can be anything that you want it to be, just be sure that is something that you really like. Buying new clothes that fit your new figure, a book that you really want, or even a trip can be great rewards. Giving your self a reward will also act as a great motivation for you to succeed.
