My P90x Results - Getting Back On Track

There was once a time when I was fit. I played sports, and was active. That was during high school. After high school, college came, and like many others, I too gained weight. My schedule and procrastination habits caused me to go to bed late and wake up late so that I always missed the campus cafeteria’s breakfast. I would eat lunch and dinner and those would be my main meals. I would eat terrible food and eat fatty, late night snacks. It wasn’t long before I started to gain weight.

It took a length of around 5 years for me to get to the point where I realized I was on a path of destruction. I was up 25 lbs from where I once was, and I could tell it all was fat. I realized that if I didn’t start to change right now, I was going to end up far worse. It was either do something now, or continue to wait and gain weight, and make it harder for myself. I was done waiting. I was ready to get fit!

I have never bought anything that I have seen on an infomercial until P90x. I watched an infomercial about it on the television and later I got online and did some research to see if it was all they advertised it to be. I found a lot of success stories and read about “muscle confusion” and I decided to buy it. This exercise program looked exciting to me.

I was so excited after buying it that I looked at reviews and success stories while I was waiting for it to come in the mail. I was ready for change and I couldn’t wait to get started. I liked the idea that it was a complete program with a nutrition guide that told me what to eat, and a solid 90 day workout routine. It was everything I needed in one package.

When the package arrived, I read everything I needed to, the nutrition and fitness guides, and I watched the “How to Bring It” DVD that introduced me to the program. I then did the fit test and was glad that I was able to pass it. The fit test tells you whether or not you are fit enough to start the program.

I pushed myself so hard at the beginning that for many days my arms were so sore and tight that I couldn’t extend them fully without pain. I decided that I better ease up a little because my body wasn’t fit enough to handle how hard I was pushing it. During the first few weeks I was regularly sore and struggling through the workouts.

The Ab Ripper X workout, and the Yoga workout were the hardest ones for me. I struggled being able to go all the way through Ab Ripper X until day 40 of the program when I was able to do all of the exercises completely. Pretty soon I found myself at the end of the 90 days feeling great, and 11 lbs lighter. I worked hard for those 11 lbs and I was extremely happy with my results!

I, like so many others, lost weight and got fit doing the P90x workout program. All you need is to buy it, get a P90x pull up bar (or any other kind of pull up bar), and dumbbells or resistance bands, such as the B-Lines resistance bands, and you can achieve awesome results too!

Have been hearing all about something called P90X and are wondering what exactly it is and why it is so popular? This program, which is known also as the Power 90 Extreme, is a home exercise (more aptly a home boot camp) program that is guaranteed to get results. It comes from a proven history and background of knowledgeable and successful physical trainers. It uses a new concept called muscle confusion in order to get results quickly and efficiently. The workout program targets many different regions of muscles in the body. It is made to be easy to follow along with, although the workouts themselves are not known to be easy. There is a nutrition plan that goes along with the exercise program as well, plus you will need some equipment at home, too.

The Power 90 Extreme program is developed by Tony Horton and the Beachbody company. Tony has been developing exercise programs with Beachbody for years, one of the earliest being a program called Great Body Guaranteed. After Great Body Guaranteed, he made the Power 90 program. Since the Power 90 did well, and since people were demanding a higher level of fitness program, he made the Power 90 Extreme in 2004. With a lot of infomercial advertising and positive word of mouth, the extreme version became quite popular.

The program is specifically designed to get some amazing results within a ninety day time frame, hence the “90″ in the title. You can expect six days of exercise per week, with each day having a work out of a little less than one hour.

The results are achieved very effective due to a concept known as “muscle confusion.” Basically, the Power 90 Extreme program confuses your muscles by continuously adding and changing routine, therefore muscles will constantly grow and develop, rather than simply plateau.

There are twelve DVD disks included. Each disc contains a new and different sort of workout specifically made to target a certain area of your body. You will see workouts focused on your back and biceps, your shoulders and arms, your chest, your shoulders and triceps, your legs and back, or also on specific styles such as yoga or plyometrics.

It is easy to follow along with workouts on the disc. You will see Tony as the main guide and motivator. You will also get a few backup exercisers to watch, too. The backup exercisers are helpful, since they will demonstrate moves at lower levels of intensity and also with some alternate kinds of equipment.

The equipment that you will need for this workout program is pretty basic. You should have either dumbbells or resistance bands, a sturdy chair and a pull up bar (for strength exercises).

If you are looking for a good way to get fit, toned, or ripped and are interested in trying the P90X exercise program, then look on the internet. You can purchase the program online. Before purchasing it, spend some time reading reviews and success stories so that you can have a better picture of what to expect from the Power 90X work out program.

I guarantee that you will love this P90X workout. Here are more p90x results to help ease your mind.

P90X Does It Work?

I’m going to start this little story by telling you where I was at almost 1 year ago, I was 30 years old, 5ft 9inches tall and 195lbs. I’m not saying I was fat, I’m not saying I was obese, but one this is for sure, I definitely wasn’t where I wanted to be, and found myself to be sadly out of shape, and had taken on the infamous pear shape. The problem I found was that all throught out highschool, and my younger years, I was active, and never had a problem with weight. As I grew older I became less active, and carried with me HORRIBLE eating habits, drinking any where between 10-15 soft drinks per day, raiding the local buffets. To top it all off my only form of exercise was…well…there was none. I was a business owner, who spent the majority of my day in my vehicle, when I got home I felt like I didn’t have the time to exercise and I sure didn’t have the desire.

So one night I was sitting around watching tv, with what I’m sure was a big bag of chips, and a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper close with in reach, when the P90X commercial came on. I remember watching this commercial thinking to myself there’s no way it was possible to get those kind of results in 90 days. After a few more minutes, and seeing how excited the people were, I found myself asking if I believed what I just saw, and it wasn’t long after that found myself wondering if this program could actually work? So guess what??? you got it, they suckered me in. Then next thing I know I’m on the phone talking with a beach body representative, and $150 poorer. My reasoning was surely I could devote an hour a day for 90 days, I had absolutely nothing to lose other than a few extra pounds, and let’s be honest who doesn’t want to be ripped. So I hung up the phone and scratched my head while wondering what had just happened. Then I started to wait for my new exercise program to arrive in the mail. I was ready to start losing the flab, burning some fat and building lean muscle or at least I thought I was.

In the past I’ve done rather should I say attempted many exercise programs, and for some odd reason I always fell short of my goal. AHHH who am I kidding I didn’t even make it any where near my goal, the video’s never even made it into the dvd player, mainly because I’m lazy, and un motivated. For what ever reason these were different, maybe it was because they weren’t super cheap, or maybe it’s because I was just tired of going down hill who knows why, but I was determined this go around. So I patiently waited for my video’s to arrive, all the while convincing myself that in just 90 short days I was going to be a lean mean fighting machine. Yes I know, I’m gullible and I believe in little fairies that fly around and grant people wishes.

In a short 7 days my wait was over and my video’s arrived, I tore open the package not quite sure what to expect, what I saw staring back at me was a bit un-nerving, between bands, dvd’s literature, and pull ups.I was starting to think that this could be a little more than what I bargained for(and it only took about 10 mins of the first P90X video for me to KNOW this was more than I bargained for). That evening I decided to give the nutrition guide a read, mid way through I was getting really disappointed that I was going to have to give up my soft drinks, pizza’s and candy bars, to get the most out of the system. But hey, I spent money on this, so I at least need to be half way committed, so that’s exactly what I did, gave up all the junk, and followed the nutrition guide as closely as possible.

At the same time I started the P90X workouts, and gave everything I had to the program, the very first day I thought I was going to pass out, or throw up, I can never remember working so hard, even when I was in the military and doing push ups and what not everyday, I found myself more winded doing these workots. It was truly grueling, but I got through it, and thought to myself how glad I was to have that over, only to wake up the next morning to find muscles I didn’t even know I had were sore. Don’t get me wrong even though I was in pain, it felt good in a strange way, I knew I had accomplished something and was on my way to a better me.

Swish Swoosh Swash(that’s my sound of traveling through a time portal as we fast forward) 10 months later, I’m now in the best shape of my life, and I continue to do the P90X workouts 6 days a week, I feel better, have more energy, and am definitely in the best shape of my life from following through with this program.
