At just a couple of pounds short of 18 stones, I was one of the many who decided it was about time I started to lose weight. I realised I was coming to the end of my rugby playing career, and that my exercise and energy levels were on the decline. It was time to do something.

I’d never tried to lose weight before. I didn’t think I needed to. Reality hits home hard. But how was I going to do it? Diet, exercise or slimming supplement? Weightwatchers perhaps?

I do not live on junk food. I do not eat high fat content, processed meats. I think I eat healthily. What, I do do, however, is eat large portions. Lots of veg and lots of meat.

Exercise is an absolute must for anyone trying to lose weight. Not only will it help to burn off excess calories and tone you up, it will also give you a great feelgood factor.

Not wanting to rule out diet pills and the like, I researched what was on offer on the internet and in the local chemists. What had good feedback. What was overpriced. What I really did’t like the look of.
