Being thin is the ultimate goal of many people. They imagine all the things that they will do and be once they are thinner. The only problem is that the diet methods that they use will never get them there. One solution is the every other day diet. It provides you with food choices and a freedom that you don’t find with any other diet plans. If people are provided with an actual plan that doesn’t inhibit what they can eat and yet still lose weight more people would be thin.
Each day is different. You don’t have to stick to the same foods each day or purchase prepared foods that some other company wants to sell to you. You are the factor here. You can decide what you want to eat. When this is done you will continue to stay on the diet. You also don’t have to spend a lot of money on food that you don’t like. Many other plans force you to eat foods that you don’t normally eat. You might be able to do this for a little while, but soon you’ll get tired of eating that way and once you do you’ll get off their plan and gain weight.
If you tried any diets in the past you might not have met you goal because you cheated. You might have eaten more calories than you were supposed to. With this diet the cheats are a part of the program. So you don’t have to wonder if you can eat a special treat.
To lose one pound you must burn 3500 calories. You need to create a deficit of calories that are consumed to lose weight. It isn’t the type of food that you eat or even when you eat. How much you eat each day will determine your deficit of calories. You need to determine how many calories your body needs to maintain your current weight level. Any amount eaten below this will allow you to lose weight.
If you are overweight you might not be eating healthy. You are eating quick convenience foods that are easy to prepare that don’t take a lot of time. Or you might you might like fast foods. You don’t have to give up the foods that you love to lose weight. But you will need to understand that some of the food choices that you make will inhibit you from attaining the weight you desire. You reprogram yourself to only eat the foods that you like on the days you don’t diet. As you progress you will continue to do things that improve your eating habits.
Working out is not easy for everyone. Some people may not be physically capable of doing exercise. Or it may have been a while since you been to a gym. Exercise does aid with weight loss. If you want to see an additional boost then doing some type of aerobic activity will do it.
Don’t start any strenuous exercise or restricted calorie diet without the approval of a physician. You will want to get a full check up before starting this diet. They can give you the okay and a clean bill of health.
Your goal is to lose weight. It is easy with the every other day diet. You will realise your weight loss dreams.

Dieting and the Holidays

We see Thanksgiving and Christmas as the most glorious festive food days of the year. Lordie, don’t you just love that dressing! And pie! Whipped Cream! Oh, YEAH! One more little helping won’t hurt your diet! But it will. That one more little helping is between you and your maker, sure, but do you want to see him that much sooner? Do you want to go with or without the extra gravy?
What do you want to do? I know, we have all winter to be back on the diet so we can wear the new spring fashions. Yeah. Has that ever happened? I want you to feel good about yourself, so please, think for one minute on the reason for your diet. Is it because you want to look better? Do you want to feel Better? Is it because you want to meet someone, or go somewhere? Maybe you just want a different life style, or maybe your doctor has told you that you have to lose weight. A few years ago they said the average American was 10 pounds overweight. Now they talk about 35 % of the population is obese. Obese. That’s why I mention Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are on a diet, then you are on a diet. Don’t be that silly person that says you can go off your weight loss program for today, or tomorrow and back on the next day. Don’t be that silly person that says that it won’t matter because the diet doesn’t work anyway. That’s just plain silly!!! I won’t even call it ignorant! Your diet has to become your lifestyle. Look at the TV ads. You see the people like Jarrod and Oprah that actually went on a diet and changed their lifestyle.
Life style. Two simple words, but when put together, they mean a whole lot more. First, if you’re overweight and don’t change the way you eat, life may be good, but it will be short. If you don’t mind the jokes and snickers, if you don’t mind the rudeness we get when we are overweight, then it’s cool, stay that way. Did you know that every ten pounds of weight you carry increases pressure on your knees by forty pounds? But that’s okay, because it’s your body. If you find the craving for food to be too much, then eat. Taste, savor, enjoy. Just don’t consume. A couple weeks ago I handed a really exquisite chocolate to a lady that has gone from 280 down to 140. She bit off half of it, delighted in the flavor, cherished the taste, and discarded the rest. She has changed her life from the person that would just eat and eat and eat to the person that tastes and cherishes the flavor, but doesn’t CONSUME.
Style- How about clothes that don’t have an X in the size? Would that be great? Well, if that’s what you want, if you’re tired of wearing potato sacks, then stay away from the potatoes. Completely. I know, lots of nutrients in the skin, so peel them and eat the skins but throw the rest away. Sports car or big sedan? Sports cars are like shoes. You have to be able to get into them to wear them. A big sedan is comfortable? C’mon! We all know you need the room to get in and out. Who are we kidding? You diet for your own reasons, but you need to stick to it. Everyday. Your style has to be the person you want to be, not who you’ve stuck yourself with. Back to life style. I tend to go off every once in a while. Lifestyle is when thin people invite you for dinner. Life style is knowing that there won’t be an extra turkey because you are coming, and you don’t hear “We cook extra because we like leftovers.” Life style is the beach, parasailing, volleyball, and stuff like that.
The problem is, lifestyle is a total concept. Holiday dinner? Friends, family, and food. Thanksgiving. The lady at the party that lost 140 pounds didn’t just skip a meal now and then. She changed her life. Her life is no longer about staying on a diet. Today she eats right and exercises, and is the thin person that she used to have deep inside. She no longer binges on food. She enjoys the holidays as social gatherings with warmth and camaraderie. Yiu can, too.
Losing the weight has to be your choice, but what a great choice it is. Set goals and grow into those goals, not the next dress size. Become a hero to yourself.

The Slim Fast Diet - Pros And Cons
June 25, 2009 by Debbie Vera

Some diets propose dieters to eat large quantities of vegetables, others attempt to make people eat a single food for a whole day.
The Slim Fast Diet has the shake.
If that sounds familiar because it’s the exact same thing Herbalife is advocating; or is the other way around? Regrettably diets are dime a dozen nowadays and sometimes is hard to tell who had the idea first.
So without going any further into that you can take a quick look at the usual pros and cons. Let’s face it ; it’s one of those diets that spark controversy. People either love it and claim it works wonders, while other will label it a rip-off.
You are advised to replace 2 meals a day with Slim Fast shakes; you can get two pieces of fruit and a nutrition bar with it. At the end of the day it’s advised to have a “sensible diner”
In theorie that diner can consist of anything you are allowed to eat as long as the portion size is being kept moderate. In reality you are going to find that this is in reality the only time to get some substantial food. The shakes will give plenty of mineral and vitamins, but not much more. So the primary food selection for diner will be something to keep you on your feet.
Apart from the shakes, dieters have to drink between 6 and 8 glasses of water per day in order to help the weight loss process along. Dieters should also exercise during this diet, but I’m not so sure that a 1,200 calories a day intake can sustain a program of exercises. On the other hand, the added exercises should help you shed weight faster and spend less time on the diet. Some people complained of having to buy all those shakes and bars, but I’d say that trading two regular meals for two shakes tends to balance out the costs.
Actually, it seems that the biggest problem dieters face is the fact that every one is on his own. There is no outside structure, there is no support. Just a box of shakes and your own common sense. This is a easy thing for some because it aids build self-reliance and teach people to gain control of their own eating process not just during the diet, but for the rest of their lives. However, many fail without outside help and this may be a big topic with this diet.
