I’ve just been informed by my boyfriend that he and his mother are going to Weight Watchers, which would be great news if they hadn’t been several times previously and can never follow it through.

Being a supportive girlfriend. I offered to rid their home of all their junk food, but I wasn’t prepared for the vast amount there was of it! I threw a lot in the trash but took the best stuff home with me, being underweight I’m lucky that I can eat this junk

I really want them to succeed so offered to help them decide on what they were going to buy to have as snacks. I knew my boyfriend would be open to any suggestions but his mother is notoriously picky, but without any problems or arguments they both happily agreed to have fruit.

Fruits are the perfect snack. They can easily be popped in your bag and when you get that mid morning or afternoon yearning for something sweet. Reach for them instead of the bars of food. Junk food is just another way of describing convenience foods, so make your fruit as convenient by always having some with you.

A good tip to make sure that you eat plenty is to keep a bowl in a prominent place near a door so you will always see it on your way out and grab some.

Fruit can go off quickly, especially in hot weather. I counteracted this by always having a supply of frozen and dried fruits, as well as frozen juice.

So if you want to look and feel great, do as my boyfriend and his mom have done, replace the cupboards full of candy with bowls of fruit.

Getting out of the habit of eating candy will be tough at first but you will soon start to feel the difference in yourself that plenty of fresh fruit brings.

It’s a funny thing about weight loss. You see all of these new gurus proclaiming new strategies and systems every year. Some of them are based on new theories about how the body works.

Whether these things actually work or not isn’t even the point. Some of them will, and others won’t, but it shouldn’t have to be so complicated.

What I find interesting is the fact that everyone out there is looking for some kind of a shortcut. Some easy or fast weigh to lose weight.

There’s one surefire way to burn fat and lose weight, and I find it funny that so few people choose to stick to the basics, instead opting for complicated plans that make things much harder than they need to be. If you eat less calories than you burn, you’ll experience weight loss.

What does this mean in the most basic of terms? Well, burn more calories than you eat, and you’ll lose weight. I can’t understand why so many people have to complicate such a simple concept.

Stop eating so much and your body will stop storing the excess energy you’re consuming. Cut down on snacks, candies, and other junk food that isn’t nutritionally beneficial to you. The more of these things you have, the longer it will take for you to lose the weight you want to lose.

The second key to the equation here is exercising as much as possible. Work your body out, as this burns even more calories in the process.

With the loss of the excess fat, lung function will improve, inflammation will subside, the air passages will open up, and people will breathe better. What Are Schools Doing About The Childhood Obesity Epidemic?

Childhood obesity is being an epidemic and not something to take as a joke. Children and teenagers are being diagnosed all over the world. We understand that everyone has a different shape and size and not everyone is alike. However when the classification of obese is given it is because the child or teen is not even within the lines of what is ok for their height and size

Exercising off what you eat is very important. Children that are obese are not burning the calories that they digest. The only time medication can help was if it was something considered a disease or genetic, maybe when they could do something for it.

There is a lot of things that can help along the onset of obesity, there are things like no physical activity everyday, not eating healthy food because there isn’t anything healthy cooked, eating to deal with stress or family /friend and school issues, these again are just a few of the problems associated with children becoming obese.

There are so many things that can go wrong once a child becomes obese, for example

1. High cholesterol

2. Always tired

3. Bulimia, anorexia

4. Skin infections

5. Joint issues

6. Teased and bullied

7. Become Bullies

8. Anxiety issues

Doctors and parents are starting to work together to make sure that children are getting all the major food groups. As well if you have a child that likes video games, challenging games like the Wii fit will use your child’s activities to beat levels, and there are more games like that coming available. Schools have also banded to together to create healthy meals for cafeterias and get rid of vending machines that carry pop and make all of them carry water and juice.

If parents take the time to make sure that their child takes healthy food as a lunch or even at dinner time, they might fuss in the beginning but will eventually give in and eat and there is nothing wrong with that at all. It is all a sacrifice when it comes to changing our life styles but it is for the better.

We are not the only ones to blame, but it is important that we help to change it, for our future’s and our health’s sake. There was a time where it was weird to see obese people because we didn’t have computers and people spent their days outside in the summer and in the winter. Shoveling, raking and doing other activities and so did our children. It is so important that we understand that our children learn by our example.

If we pick up and change and then ask our kids, they will do the same thing. It is easier to change if you see that your mom and dad are doing the same thing. Even if they are young and get mad, turn off that TV and get the kids to go and play outside and get some sun. We need to be the boss and teach them the way things were before the electronics. Save those for the too cold and rainy days!
