Over the holiday season, all of us eat and drink too much. Your day of reckoning will arrive soon. You will look at the mirror and you will feign shock about what you see. You will decide to go on a diet immediately. At that point, this article will be important to you.

Too many people think that they can fix what they are seeing in the mirror, by going on a diet. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

You dont see weight when you look at the mirror. What you see is fat. It could be around your waist, hips, thighs, legs, arms or face. This is what persuades you to go on a diet, but you dont lose fat by dieting.

It is very easy to pile on fat over the holiday season. You add fat to you body by eating more calories than you use. You gain 1 pound of fat per 3,500 calories that you consume, but dont use. Over the holiday season, you eat and drink more than usual, and you are probably less active than you usually are.

If you just reduce your consumption of calories so that it is less than the number of calories that you use, you wont lose the fat. You can only lose fat by exercising. Sadly, most people think that fat loss is the same as weight loss; it is not.

What Is The Result Of Dieting Without Exercising?

Dieting, without exercise, can result in weight loss. Your scales will confirm this. The weight loss will be due to a loss of water from your body and its muscles. You will not have lost fat. Whatsmore, it is almost certain that you will regain the weight that you lost, because you body will automatically replenish its water level when you finish the diet.

What Is the Answer?

If you want to lose the fat that you see in the mirror, you have no choice but to do a regular fat burning exercise routine. There is a great deal for you to understand about exercise that burns fat. What you may call exercise, may not burn fat at all. Also, as certain eating routines help fat loss to occur, you will need to learn about that as well.

Why You Must Exercise, If You Want To Lose Your Unwanted Body Fat

Does looking in the mirror, and seeing unwanted fat on your body, create a desire in you to get your body back now?

The rest of this article will be important to you, only if you answered yes to the question posed.

If you want to lose the fat that you see, when you look at your body in a mirror, you will have to do some form of fat burning exercise. You will also have to alter your eating routines, but the exercise is far more important.

Exercise Speeds Up Your Metabolism

To lose the unwanted fat on your body, you must increase your metabolism. You can only increase your metabolism through exercise. When you increase your metabolism, you burn the food that you have recently consumed more quickly - for energy. Then you will begin to burn the fat on your body for energy.

When you speed up your metabolism, you burn fat all day long - even when you are not exercising. This is known as “the thermogenic effect of exercise”.

Achieving The Maximum Thermogenic Effect

There are a few factors which will largely determine the effectiveness of your exercise routine, in raising your metabolic rate, which will determine the rate at which you will lose your unwanted fat. These are: what form of exercise you do, the frequency of your exercise, and the amount of time you spend exercising.

There is one more key factor. It is the intensity of your movement, while exercising.

However, the most important of these is the mode of exercise you choose to do.

Forms of Exercise That Bring About Fat Loss

You can classify exercise into two general categories; one is aerobic and the other is anaerobic.

Some examples of aerobic exercise are jogging, walking, swimming and bicycle riding. Strength training, or weight training as some people call it, is the example of anaerobic exercise that many people think of, in connection with fat loss.

The form of exercise that brings about the fastest fat loss is strength training. But not everyone will find it to their liking. If that is the case with you, just choose a form of aerobic exercise to do, which will bring about the fat loss that you want. If you want the very best exercise routine, that will produce the most amount of fat loss in the shortest amount of time, you would do both strength training and aerobic exercise.

What Type Of Exercise Appeals To You?

Will you do an aerobic exercise routine or a strength training routine? Or will you do both? Once you decide on the form of exercise that you will do, you will discover that there are several other questions that you will need to answer. A few of these are: how much time should you spend doing your exercise routine?, how often should you exercise?, and what is the correct level of exertion for you?

You will have to find out more about fat loss exercise, if you really want to lose that fat that you see in the mirror every day.

Scar Treatment Choices for the Masses

As far as treating scarring caused by severe injuries on the skin like wounds and skin problems like pimples and acne is concerned, we tend to connect it more with pricey surgical procedures performed by Hollywood cosmetic surgeons. Though it is true that these methods are indeed some of the more effective methods in helping get rid of scars, it is not a doable option for those that have limited finances. Good news is that there are alternatives, cheaper alternatives to the high-priced surgical route.

However, to find out more about these effective methods that will not cost you your life savings, we must first discuss those products and methods that may be cheap but are in no way effective as far as their scar healing claims are concerned.

While there are a lot of options out there that are not very expensive, most of them are, unfortunately, quite ineffective and are simply a waste of your money and time.

Vitamin E-based products - there are many anti scar products out there that brag of its capability to diminish manifestation of scarring because of vitamin E. Clinical trials performed to delve into this claim have shown negative results and have even shown probable adverse effects with about 30% of human subjects manifesting signs of allergic reaction to the products. Vitamin E does appear to provide moisturizing effect but no more than that.

Products based on onion extracts - there are a lot of scar reduction products in the market that are based on natural ingredients such as onion extracts. One such product is known as Mederma. Unfortunately for this type of anti scarring products though, trials have indicated that they do not work as advertised and may just benefit the skin the way petoleum jellies do. Studies have shown that it does nothing to reduce or heal scars but the good thing is, compared to vitamin E creams, onion extracts based creams does not cause allergic reactions.

Other products based on natural ingredients such as cocoa butter, aloe vera, lime juice, cucumber are also being sold out there to be a alternative solutions to scarring problems but neither of them have been tested clinically to prove their claims.

But other options are available, products that contain silicone as one of its ingredients, either in silicone sheets, gel or cream and they have demonstrated superb performance in treating scars especially for severe cases like keloidal and hypertrophic formations. Fortunately, there are clinical trials to back this up and as such, this form of scar treatment has been suggested as the best in removing or improving scars.

Silicone sheeting is ideal since it is not invasive and is quite painless and most especially, relatively cheaper compared to other options that work. This technique is even more effective if applied early in the wound healing process and is a well accepted method in treating burn injuries.

Good scar treatment doesn’t have to be painful and expensive as its surgical alternatives because there are more convenient, cheaper methods available that are backed up by scientific proof to be effective and beneficial.

There are a lot of options as far as scar reduction techniques are concerned. All you need to do is assess which is best suited for your needs through sound research and due diligence. One of such methods is known as the laser scar treatment procedure.
